Just because your friend received a very good deal at one particular insurance company does not necessarily guarantee that you will receive the same. More than likely, it will be quite a bit different especially as the likelihood of your driving exactly the same car, being the same age and having the same qualifications when it comes to driving are rare. The New Curtain Rods
Posted on May 7, 2010
Filed Under Home | Leave a Comment
Today’s curtains are not very different from what curtains have been in the past. Certainly colors have changed and fabrics have evolved but essentially the curtain panels have remained pretty much the same. One thing though has changed tremendously. The way we hang our curtains.
Only a decade or so ago, the most popular curtain rods were in the form of a single rail, or a double rail, where hooks that held the curtains were attached. To operate the curtains a drawstring was used. We still see some of these curtain rods but they are less and less popular because they are not very decorative. They are ceding the place to new rods that are more a part of our general decor than the old ones used to be.
These new rods have infinite possibilities for a beautiful window treatment. They can be modern or contemporary with metals that match your sleek designs, and geometric finials. They can be classic in dark wood and elaborate carvings in wooden finials, they can also be rustic with finials themes that bring nature into the house. Birds, flowers, leaves, and other motifs are available to display at the ends of your curtain rods. You can even change them with the seasons, or your mood. Read more

If you are on a tight monthly budget and don’t have a lot of extra money available to spend on carpeting your floors, you might want to consider purchasing carpet remnants.
Carpet retailers will then collect unused pieces and sell them at discount prices to customers looking for an inexpensive way to get their floors carpeted without having to purchase a full roll. This can benefit you in a number of ways, as the installation of a new carpet can sometimes be a highly expensive and drawn out process. Remnants can easily be bought and placed on your floor in a way that would give off the impression that they came from a brand new roll. Read more

When most of us think of zebra bedding we think of those definite black and white stripes that cover our comforters or our sheets. It may be time to think beyond the basics. Designers and manufacturers have opened the pattern to a variety of colors. No longer do we have to make a choice between the pattern and our favorite colors.
Adult bedrooms may embrace the black and white pattern as the zebra bedding of choice. After all, black and white makes a dramatic statement in any bedroom decor. All that is needed to finish the look is a vibrant accent color to break the stark ultra-modern look of black and white.
However, teens have a much more vivid imagination. Often they prefer to combine the zebra print bedding patterns with their favorite colors. Designers have capitalized on the idea. Today zebra bedding is available in combinations of brown and tan, pink and black and white, blue and black, and even Read more

Most catering industry businesses have not yet taken a look at glasswashers as an addition to the kitchen equipment thinking that a regular dishwasher is sufficient to perform all tasks required. What these restaurateurs do not realize is the effect regular dishwashers have on glass and how much time and money can actually be saved by an investment in a purpose built glass washer.
Leave no trace.
As you may have noticed but never thought you could do anything about, the dishwasher will eventually leave marks on the glass, etched in by the heat in washer and by the detergents used. Whilst appropriate for dinner ware, pots and pans etc. dishwasher detergent is much too strong for frequent use on glass and will eventually ruin your glassware. In the restaurant environment, where glasses are washed several times per day, this will happen in a very short period of time. A glasswasher will reduce the frequency of replacement for your glasses, saving you money. Read more

One of the first images that comes to mind whenever the subject of charter air service arises is the image of a tourist trying to get to some exotic destination. This is an especially bright image when thinking of the beautiful Caribbean or remote islands where travelers go for peace and to escape from the pressures of their daily routines. Some who provide the service also call it “air taxi” service, since it is a ride for hire and not on any set daily schedule.
The service is not exclusive to the tourism industry. Scores of groups – like sports teams, the military, class reunions or corporate executives – take charter flights for retreats, secluded trainings, or team-building exercises. This kind of demand has prompted many companies who rent charter planes to sell flight time with a sharp eye on filling every seat on the plane.
Naturally, flights with fewer passengers cost more. Expenses for fuel, licensing, pilots and maintenance have forced company owners to ensure they cover high overhead costs. To make these excursions more fuss-free and attractive to potential customers many services have collaborated with hotels, car rental companies, eateries and entertainment arenas to give packages and ensure clients get more for their money.
Recent rises in gas prices and a sagging economy have lured cargo planes into the industry, as well. When there is ample room, some companies that specialize in transporting packages and other kinds of freight have allowed a minimal number of passengers aboard. This counteracts the tendency to sit idle when consumers slump off in mailing packages because everyone is on a thriftier budget.
It is important for companies to plan well around holidays and stay in close communication with their customers. There have been intense tales of clients getting stranded in faraway places when there have not been enough resources for a return trip to retrieve clients.
Perhaps, in the grand scheme of things, this is the nature of the field: travelers and pilots should be ready to go on a short notice and should always have a back-up plan, in case the plane that dropped them off cannot return them safely home.

12V electric winches are incredibly easy to use and are essential tools for any off-roader. However, you must make sure to use them correctly because a failure to do so might result in serious injury to you and other bystanders. Luckily, all this takes is a little planning and common sense.
First and foremost, make sure that you know how to operate your winch under all kinds of conditions. If there are off-roading clubs in your area, most of them will offer courses on this. You should learn how to secure your winch to your car, properly pick out an anchor point and secure it with a tree strap, and how to actually operate and inspect the winch.
Inspecting your winch and cable are particularly important. While it isn’t common, if your winch cable fails, there is a huge whiplash associated with it that can put holes in windshields and the hoods of cars. You can avoid almost all risk of this however by simply inspecting your winch before you use it. Make sure that there’s no bird’s nesting, kinking, or other signs of weakness or corrosion in the cable. While you’re doing this, also make sure to wear gloves so that no stray fibers from the cable stick into your hands. Read more

One of the more traditional aspects of Christmas that I really love is Christmas bells. Christmas really starts for me with all the little memories that seem to come out of the attic in the tissue filled boxes. We ring Christmas bells to herald the magic of childhood to give our children and grandchildren the wonderful wonderland magical Christmas experiences we had.
Seasonal songs are littered with references that evoke happy childhood memories, candy canes and roaring log fires. The wonderful aroma of the Christmas tree, festooned with the bells of Christmas and glass baubles glimmering in the candle light. The garlands of sparkling tinsel all filled us with awe.
Do you remember looking up at the night sky and being convinced that not only did you see the lights glittering across the star spangled night sky, but you heard the Christmas jingle bells of Santa on his sleigh? Of course we had open log or coal fires back then, I recall the way we would call up the chimney with our many requests in the weeks leading up to Christmas to make sure Santa got the message.
The rush to open the door as the musical Christmas bells chimed the arrival of the local carol singers all wrapped up in hats and scarves collecting money for the local parish poor or the church restoration fund. In my memories it was always snowing. Steaming hot chocolate would be taken in a jug to refresh the carol singers before they went on their way with the caroling Christmas bells. Read more

As a parent, a primary concern is the protection of your kids. Owning weapons should not put them at risk. The good news is accidental gun deaths for children have decreased fifty percent over the past twenty five years and this is largely attributable to the increased use of storage systems. If you are in a state that affords increased liability to gun owners or enforces a weapons storage agenda, a gun cabinet can help you comply with safety requirements, provide added security for your family, and protect you against claims of negligence. The process of old home renovation has changed drastically in recent months. Where once anyone was allowed to work on homes and businesses built prior to 1978, this is not so. The EPA has now mandated that under most conditions a contractor will need to be certified in lead removal and disposal. In this article we will take at the basic law and who does not need to get lead certifications.
Those that work on buildings built prior to 1978 and that will have small children occupying them must have a new EPA lead certification to do so. They will need to undergo formal training at an EPA approved center, and then apply for their license with an annual due. Once they have this training, they will need to show this to the home or business owner that hires them, before starting on a job. Along with this they need to explain the hazards of lead and have the owner sign off that they have done so. Once this is complete they can begin their job following the safe procedures that are discussed in the classes. Read more
