Martha Stewart’s mother, Martha Kostyra dies at age 93. Martha Kostyra had a small stroke recently and was placed in the hospital.

The breaking news came aware after Martha Stewart posted on her blog this Saturday that her mother passed away on Friday. Kostyra was always known as “Big Martha”. Stewart’s mother had appeared several times on her own show as well as on other programs such as Larry King Live.

Kostyra was born on September 16, 1914. She was a school teacher until she retired in 1981. Martha Stewart has posted a tribute on her blog for her mother. Martha Kostyra will be missed.
