NTIA HDTV Coupon will provide a $40 coupon for those that still have analog sets. The credit will go towards the purchase of the converter box that will help receive the digital over the air signal on an analog TV.
NTIA stands for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. With HD channels becoming more popular with DirectTV and Dish Network packages, many people are starting to buy HD capable televisions. The difference between standard definition and high definition sets is amazing. Not only does HDTV provide better picture but most programming provides better sound like Dolby Digital 5.1 surround.
If you plan on watching over the air on analog then you will need to get the NTIA voucher. The change over from analog to digital will take place February 2009. Stay tuned for more details and breaking news on technology.
