Osteo Odonto Keratoprosthesis and Bob McNichol?  It is being called the miracle operation allowing blind people to be able to see again.

Bob McNichol was told by doctors in Ireland that he would never see again and that there was nothing else they could do for him.  He believed differently and took interest in a miracle operation called Osteo Odonto Keratoprosthesis.  It was developed back in the 1960’s and is a process that involves creating a support for an artificial cornea.  It is created from one of the patient’s own teeth and the bone surrounding it.

The Osteo Odonto Keratoprosthesis was performed on Bob McNichol by Dr. Christopher Liu from the Sussex Eye Hospital in England.  There is only a 65 percent chance that there will be any sight after the surgery.  Mr. McNichol now can see again and can do simple tasks such as watching TV.  He does not have his full vision back, but he no longer is blind.  We will continue to follow this story and provide any breaking news updates
