Humpback Chub Fish and the Glen Canyon Dam? The manmade flood of the Glen Canyon Dam began this morning and is expected to last the next three days.
The federal government is trying to help save the Humpback Chub fish and the rest of the ecosystem in the canyon. Ever since the Glen Canyon Dam was built back in 1963 the ecosystem in the canyon has suffered. They have come up with a plan that includes the manmade floods in attempt to restore life to the way it was.
The Humpback Chub fish is now endangered and near extinction. There are three other fish that are in the same boat. We will continue to monitor this story and provide any breaking news updates over the next three days as the flood continues.
