Breaking news announced today that AOL is buying Bebo website. Bebo is a social-networking website that is very popular in Britain and Ireland. The purchase of Bebo will be worth $850 million to AOL.
It is reported that Bebo has around 40 million users already and is still growing. AOL, which is a Time Warner company, is looking to expand in the social website arena. At Bebo you can share digital media, such as images and video.
AOL buying Bebo website could help them grow in popularity with online users. Many other social sites are getting big and being purchased like, MyBlogLog, which was acquired by Yahoo!. More and more people are getting involved in sites like Bebo and MySpace. We’ll see how this turns out for AOL.
