The Fed Rate Cut comes to take some ease off of the sub prime mortgage issue. It appears that this cut won’t help those of you with the fixed rate on your home loan but it will benefit those that are stuck in an adjustable loan. This will be the lowest rate in almost four years.

Over this last weekend the Federal Reserve helped JP Morgan take over and buy the failing Bear Stearns for $30 billion. Hopefully this will help those that are in need and stop those from losing homes. We’ll keep an eye on how this affects the economy.

Countrywide loans FBI investigation has not been commented on by the FBI but there were reports that there is an ongoing investigation. Countrywide is one of the most popular and top home lenders in the United States. Bank of America is supposed to acquire Countrywide home loans later this year.

It is projected that VISA IPO date will be somewhere in March. They filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission today. Mastercard also went public and has seen a huge rise in it’s shares. The expected cost of the shares from VISA are between $37-$42.

The market has been interesting and not completely stable so VISA IPO may be taking a gamble but if they follow in MasterCards foot steps they will be in good shape. It is said that the Tax Rebate Plan will provide individuals with $600. Couples should receive $1200 and additionally $300 for each child. If you have made at least $3,000 in 2007 and paid federal taxes then you are eligible for this plan. Others that made $3,000 and didn’t pay federal taxes are still going to be eligible but the amount of rebate will be less.

It is stated that the Tax Rebate Plan 2008 checks should be going out around May and most people should receive the rebates no later then July. Some are not sure if this will actually help the economy but we’ll have to wait and see when the rebates actually come out. Check back for updates and more tax information in the future.

Many other banks will most likely cut their prime interest rates soon and follow behind what Bank of America did. The Federal Open Market Committee decided to lower the percentage again to help the economy. Many believe and worry that the country will go into a recession.

Prime interest rate cuts have also been done by the Wachovia Corporation, another large financial company. Many have been hurt by their interest rates on credit cards and home loans recently, so hopefully this will help the US economy in the long run.
